Wrapping up a year of hard work by the team at Fanshawe Centre for Research & Innovation
December 24th, 2020

A year of extremely hard work by the team at Fanshawe Centre for Research & Innovation is reflected in my latest communication work – our first quarterly update newsletter, called “Innovation Interval.”

I sent out the publication to our stakeholder audience to mark our holiday outreach, highlight the year of accomplishments and inform our partners of the vision for 2021. It’s an important piece of communication as the centre’s mission has evolved dramatically in the last year to focus very purposefully on industry-driven applied research in food innovation and sustainable buildings & automation technology: keeping our audience engaged with our mandate and direction is critical to our centre’s growth in reputation, and to attract new research projects. I completed all elements of writing and design of this publication.

As we conclude a year of continuous pivoting and never giving up on our mission of leading applied research, my favourite reflection from this year of work is one of timeless vision for the future:

My boss Dr. Colin Yates penned an innovation manifesto as the pandemic unfolded in March… and as we conclude a challenging year and persevere into 2021, this message is endlessly hopeful: The time for innovation is always *NOW*
